As I Contemplate... Poem by DM W

As I Contemplate...

Rating: 5.0

As I contemplate heartache, and the loss
Of the divine, the strange, new morning sun
Pours out its light into my darkened room.
I hear birdsong which seems to flow through me.
O I've wandered too long in wanton night.
Perhaps, this fleeting oracle signals
A marked change in the malign scheme of things
Will sweet heaven now replace bitter hell?

Things change and things do get better in out lives we live and lead, for that is the nature of the beast. And in life my glass is always half full, except when I'm on PoemHunter and viewing the latest spam on my poems then it's sadly more than half empty and chipped too. Thanks Dominic for your thinking poem and five stars. Take care and enjoy life, though not through a glass darkly.
