As I Pass These Trees Poem by Glen Kappy

As I Pass These Trees

Rating: 5.0

As I pass these trees
now lit by early sun
it's like a shutter lifted.

It's not like years ago
when they were merely backdrop
to that younger life I lived—
so forward-thrusting, self-absorbed.

No. Especially in moments such as this
I know I should not pass unless
I recognize their nurture, substance
size... and all that is their living-ness.

As a young man, one has so many other preoccupations and hardly has time to watch Nature and the objects in it! We were so self absorbed! But as we mature through years, they open before us new avenues of perception and we try to understand them in greater depth! ! A beautiful poem that shows clearly how we grow from being egocentric to people with a wider view of life to embrace all living forms. A sure 10

Now light is lit by early sun and you pas these trees and gain amazing perception. Passing through unknown roads is risky. You should pass these knowing their nature. Every moment we should be careful to awaken life. Amazing poem is beautifully presented here...10

it is wonderful, isn't it kumarmani, when for moments there disappears the separation between us and the created world which we normally experience as out there or separate from us? even if we can't stay in this state, the memory fosters in us a reverence for life. thank you so much for following my poems and taking the time to comment. all the best to you! -glen

Years ago, when you were young, trees were mere trees, just a backdrop, with time, you mature and become conscious of surroundings and you realize that trees are very significant for this earth because they are essential to hold life.
