At Journey's End Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

At Journey's End

At the twilight hour Padaranjan lay
Bathed in an ethereal glow
The space beyond looked familiar
With many loved ones being there

But he hesitated on the threshold
His heart entangled
With the ones on this side
His destiny wrapped with theirs

So must have felt his departed ones
So must have felt all souls
At the cross road of life and death
Torn between this world and the beyond

He wondered what He must be thinking
The Great One sitting above
Keeping an eye on the flow of traffic
From this world to the other!
