At Swimming Pool Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

At Swimming Pool

Rating: 5.0

Here swimming is too costly to be afforded by many.
I afford it with my fellowship money.
A coach whispers in my ear,
‘I'll take special care,
if you pay me more.
This to anybody's ear you don't pour.'
It's the funeral of money- I thought.
Society is touched with the hands of rot-
previously people took bribes to do unwise,
then to perform wise,
now to do own duty sincerely.
Both the taker and giver must be condemned seriously.
Extra I won't offer,
I'll learn from another.

'bribes.. Both the taker and giver must be condemned'. The state of affair that you have narrated is outright corruption.... moral turpitude infesting our societies. Do we have the will power to defeat it in all possible ways? Thanks.
