At The Bottom Of The Glass.. - Poem by Laura Folse

i can't tell any longer if i drink because it hurts
or if it hurts because i drink
after staring at my reflection at the bottom of the glass
for the seventh time tonight (maybe more..but who's counting)
.. the pain disappears
not remembering how i got from here to there
only falling into a drunken slumber
thoughts spinning in my head making me so dizzy that
i can't think
and i don't mind
and i ask myself how did it get to this point
deep down, i know exactly how i got here
but i've no solution yet for finding a way out

That is a very heartfelt poem. I know where you are and have been there myself. I do feel your pain. Keep writing, my love. (Report) Reply
