Autumn Reveal Poem by cecil hickman

Autumn Reveal

Gaze, upon the gray night reveal of autumn, with twinkling stars.
Twilight of distant light seems quiet, un-forcibly showing beauty.
This time of year, is like natures medicine, for repairing scars.
Preparing for the future seasons, which must relinquish their duty,
Listen, as you can hear, the last calls of the insects that will sleep.
The occasional call, of the flying mammalian, searching for food,
Within the wooded areas, other creatures linger, without a peep.
Bedding, in the fallen leaves, to rest, blessing their animalistic mood,
The humid days, without the misty rains, cause distaste to some.
The days of misty rain, set the pace, for winters regard and plans.
Cool evenings; bring savoring happiness, allowing all to hum.
This time of year, allows us to know, the feel of his loving hands.
For the night, sky, so gentle, is like his love, for you and me.
This season’s rains are like the tears, his son cried for thee.
Morning dew covers all, as his blessings, he gives all to see.
One request by our Lord is to ask his forgiveness, upon a knee.
