Autumn Twilight, So Violet... Poem by Elena Daniela

Autumn Twilight, So Violet...

Autumn twilight, so violet...
Two distant poplars show their silhouette
--Apostles in vestments, so violet--
All the city is violet.

Autumn twilight, so violet...
Roads strolled by a world, lazy and coquette;
The whole crowd is so violet,
All the city is violet.

Autumn twilight, so violet...
Across the tower, I see many emperors with long locks;
Our ancestors are gathering in violet flocks,
All the city is violet.

This is a translation of the poem 'Amurg de toamna violet' by George Bacovia
