Away from the bustle
and down to the river trail
and there a pool off to the side
its surface—revealed by sunlight
breaking through the gray—
patterned in a gentle herringbone—
rich greens and yellows
from the bushes above
reflected on it.
rich greens and yellows from the bushes above reflected on it......you are a lover of nature dear Glen..... thank u for your fine poem.. tony
and thank you, tony. my wife and i visited philadelphia in june, and i discovered the schuylkill river trail was a reasonable walk from where we were staying. this poem was written from an experience there. -glen
This goes off a trail as the poem follows the descent of light and a person to an epiphany of simple flowers gathered in a spirit of gratitude. What else do we do with beauty but see it and show gratitude.
exactly! i'm glad you have the heart and are the kind of reader who doesn't need this explained. thank you, daniel. appreciatively, glen
