Ballad Of A Stray Dog Poem by Kostas Lagos

Ballad Of A Stray Dog

Rating: 5.0

A stray dog I saw this morning

thirsty, hungry and lame

Needy four-legged creature I thought,

being like that is a shame!

But then a front door was opened

and sweet music I heard

The voice of a lady so fair

such beauty is absurd!

She asked the dog to go to her

who could her call deny?

it runned and fell into her arms

and I thought it was shy!

How I envy this poor bastard

as she pets and feeds it!

And I am looking for some booze

greedily to drink it!

It seems that I was the stray dog and not the poor animal

The neglect of an animal is atrocious. Especially, when a perfumed pretender is unaware.++10

Quite an interesting write! If the animal had been picked up and fondled by an ugly looking hag, would you have the same jealousy.....? ?

Let's just say that there would be no poem in that case!
