Be Not True Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Be Not True

Rating: 5.0

I don’t want people to be true to me.
Yes, they must please me with words and gesture.
Yes, they must hide their hate and displeasure.
I must be happy though it’s a folly.

How shall I comment on this poem? Being true or Being not true? To be true, if the poem sarcastic I welcome your method of rebuking the people who expect false praising to inflame their ego.

how wonderfully you said it....admit hundred per cent.... I support the philosophy at least to remain good...no need to intrigue or tresspass the underneath of others and analyze it's genuineness..... we need a good deal and a good tempo..that'sall. your small verses, specially in 'be series...' are worth thinking... thnks for sharing./.salu.

I may say good things about you and I may say not and could hurt you, but I will still say it in a nice way that you will understand or motivate in a 'reverse psychology' just not to hurt your feelings.........a 10.
