Helping another is truly a privilege of man,
Giving new hope in hearts whenever you can,
A teaching of religions and philosophy alike,
Far more benefit than a hunger strike,

Teachings of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam and Christianity,
Helping another lightens our soul and refreshes or humanity,
It will make us humble, understanding, compassionate and kind,
It will teach us the common goal for all mankind,

It will teach us the value of life is far more than just living,
A different way for the soul, spiritual well being,
An example for many, give them a fresh start,
Show them the kindness that dwells in a human heart,

A kind touch, a listening ear, a helping hand can make a change,
A bond formed between two of gratitude and kindness that they exchange,
That is what you teach people, the virtues of kindness and gratitude,
You will impart virtues as you help, forming within them a better attitude,

Thousands of lamps can be lighted from a single lamp you hold,
Thousands can see through the darkness thanks to your heart of gold,
They will learn from you, be thankful and help others in need,
Indirectly planting within others the virtuous helping seed,

Help others whenever you can, always offer other a helping rope,
As you fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope,
The lesson here is to make a difference, even if it is to a boy or girl
Nourish humanity, be the change you wish to see in the world,
