Guru's words go till gate,
Scriptures meet the same fate.
‘Go thence whence greats have gone,
‘Tread what they have trodden',
Holy books for years hail,
But great tail's what we tail.
There's no dearth of such souls,
Nor yet of given goals,
Gurus gather their grade
Multi-millions get made,
One such man1 when he said,
Be thou self-made, self-led.
To his words we gloated,
And many made a grade,
But Buddha too had said
The same thing I'm afraid,
But he'd no millions made,
And here I end with dread!

Though on humorous side it is a profound poem. Between the lines it has significant message. Loved the way you drafter it.
Thank you Mohammed Nehal (for both the comments) and for rating the poem so high. The best way to say something I feel is with some pinch of humour. I'm glad, you've caught the humour.

'A great poem with a great message', thank you if you say so, but I see they don't go far.
