Beard Anatomy Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Beard Anatomy

Rating: 5.0

All out male attitude to challenge,
She thought this unique way to drive change,
Male scientists to dare
By wearing facial hair!
But can a lemon change to orange?

Fed up with being overlooked as a female scientist, Palaeontologist Ellen Curanno is on a drive for change— by donning a beard. A Bearded Lady Project: Challenging the Face of Science is organized for display at the University of California at Berkeley.

A note of caution: It is not my intention to compare anyone with lemon. Just that, a lemon is lemon, and an orange, orange.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I think it was Margaret Thatcher, ex Prime Minister, UK, who once said: For a woman to be compared equal to a male, she has to be doubly capable. Sad, it is still true.
