Beauty - Poem by Gordon Jerome

What beauty shines in a patch of wild flowers
As they glisten bright from gentle spring showers
Or a field of tall grass as it sways in the breeze
As it dances with the wind wherever it please
Have you laid on your back on a hot summers day
And watched as the clouds simply floated away
Or walked bare footed through a fresh mowed lawn
As it glistened with dew in the breaking of dawn
Have you soaked your feet in a cool mountain stream
Or simply sat on its banks getting lost in a dream
Have you stared at the sky on a dark starry night
And wished on the one that was shining so bright
Have you held a loved one looking deep in their eyes
And known in this world there was no greater prize
Then treasure these memories of life you have known
And thank the world all around you for the beauty its shown.
“closing thought”
There is so much beauty in this world to be found
If you stop and take a moment to just simply look around
