Beauty In Essence Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I read beautiful sentence 'beauty is joy forever'
How best to understand 'beauty lies in the eyes of beholder'
I was restless and decided to search
But I had imagined it as beyond reach

God only knows how to define beauty
He has created it and certainly is his duty
I shall have to feel or be the part of beautiful universe
If I am granted black color then it should not be the cause of curse

Oh God! What a project I have taken on hand?
Not even almighty has tried to understand
It was freely distributed on earth by nature
Many flowers have come up in garden to reassure

'No, it can't be as simple as that' I was amused
I opened eyes but in misbelieve refused
Why was it not attracting as it should have been?
I thought for a while but lacked the power to be called divine

Wherever I moved and tried to guess
I saw the same power with divine face
He was there in each particle
Each one speaking itself as independent article

I found beauty in black eyes
With same attraction and force it tried
Not that white lacked any appeal
But black represented nothing to repeal

I raised my hands and looked at his mighty power
Only rain god had the blessings to offer
Bring life and beauty to earth in general
So many appeared quickly and many disappeared with funeral

I tried to read and decode the beautiful language
I was not young enough to understand that page
Where all the material was available to feel beautiful
But I found it at no place and remained unsuccessful

I find each object better than the other
Among the females I could see only mother
In the garden I could find only rose flower
Where else I need to go now to find beautiful cover?
