Before Leaving The Inn Poem by Ravi Panamanna

Before Leaving The Inn

Rating: 4.5

DEDICATED TO THE GREAT MALAYALAM POET 'MAHAKAVI* P KUNHIRAMAN NAIR'.

My prostrations are unto thee,
Oh! pleasant mother earth, I leave thy inn-
Herewith I return my keys.
Thanks for all the dales and kindly lease.

My reflections are unto thee,
Dear mother earth, I am on my sojourn.
Herewith I leave behind my decades-
Missions and mansions.
Take care of the winds.

My heart is for thee,
Loving mother, I am closing the door.
Herewith I leave behind a cartload-
My memories and dreams.
Take care of the springs.

My prayful thoughts unto thee,
Oh good earth, I miss thee forever.
Herewith I return my season ticket-
Alight from my train.
Adieu for thy selfless love,
Thanks for all the pastures of life.

The first stanza is really touching, the poet's thanksgiving to this mother earth before taking leave of her once for all. The way he has presented his feelings, he must have been a Mahakavi, I can understand. The rest of the lines have been made up as if he would have written the same. Nice work.

My prostrations are unto thee, Oh! pleasant mother earth, I leave thy inn- Herewith I return my keys. Thanks for all the dales and kindly lease..........most brilliant tribute to great poet Mahakavi P.Kunhiraman Nayar, hats off to his poetic glaze by curve of meaning by mortality and ultimate genuflection to mother earth at finale by surrendering all belongings what he had with him all through life, wonderful feeling yet utterly evocative, and translation certainly reaches the niche to delve truth, well done dear, i applaud,10+++, thanks for sharing
