Beginning Of The End Poem by Katherine Graven

Beginning Of The End

Rating: 4.8

Our first meeting was one of sweet surrender
It would be the only night I would want to remember
Marriage should have been our happiest day
But instead in bed that night you turned me away

For every special day from the first time we met
You made it a day I would forever regret
Beyond your lies you could not see
How your hidden secrets would affect me

Images of us flow through the tips of my fingers
Searching for the joy that has never lingered
Who the hell have I been trying to kid
In this reality I see unhappiness from the beginning to the end

Your actions put me through emotional hell
Leaving behind an image of a cold empty shell
How can you regain something that has never been there

Now

By the way I feel I know you never did care

No more tears I will shed for someone like you
Because it doesn’t matter to me what you now do
Long ago I checked out from this one sided love
Because our perfect beginning led to an imperfect ending

Not love
