Being Beautiful Poem by Randy McClave

Being Beautiful

They say that beautiful is something a girl needs to be
So, she can please men like both you and me,
But, this I say and I believe let her be she
And let her not worry about pleasing any he.
Be funny, be adventurous there are an eternity of other things
Beauty is what your mind and soul truly brings,
It is your talent and what your heart sincerely sings
Beauty is more than looks, it awakens and then it springs.
To be only beautiful, I will say firstly forget that
Don't ever become a painters canvas or a welcome mat,
Be a fighter or a revolutionary, or even a diplomat
And never be ashamed or embarrassed where you are at.
Be creative, be crazy and never become only suitable
Be mad, be angry, be klutzy, be talented or be undutiful,
Words strung together make a definition so be disputable
There is more interesting things than to be only beautiful.
