Being Me Poem by Airda Jones

Being Me

I don't follow the trends
As you see, my phone don't flip
My sneakers are worth a whole two dollars
And my blue jeans aren't ripped

I don't roll with the perfect cleavage crowd
I certainly don't have the hourglass waist
I get by with a fudge pop, a cherry pie
A cheesecake, baked potato, and two steaks

My idea of a good time is a with
A rogue or pirate in a good romance book
I can tell which Egyptian god
That is with just one look

Don't get me wrong when I say shopping
Is a favorite pastime of mine
But not with those girly friends
Instead, my sis and I have a good time

It's not all about me but
It's all about being me
Because I want to continue my own trend
To be funny, loving and unique.
