Beside The Peaceful Waters Poem by David Harris

Beside The Peaceful Waters

Rating: 5.0

Beside the peaceful waters,
we watch the fireflies dance
late into the darkness
as we warm to love’s advance.

Beside the peaceful waters,
she steals my heart away
only to be gone from my side
at the breaking of a new day.

Beside the peaceful waters,
my dreams lie shattered in despair.
She has gone to another’s arms
and no longer, mine will share.
