Besotting Darkness
(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)

Besotting darkness has cast a spell
As we find in the forbidden books of nacromancy
Hundreds of blooming flowers are falling
Like tear drops oozing from the mountain
Of burning hopes
The flowers are withering
Like the decaying leaves of bunian tree
Even before the garland is made
Intoxicating darkness has surrounded
The azure sky along with its blazing sun
Time is running fast
Like the coaches of speeding train
The path is crooked and slippery
And its a tough journey to undertake
All are forlorn with grief
Blood doesn't run through veins and arteries
Sorrow rises from umbilical cord
And heart aches with unknown pain
Calamity has descended for no reason
Everything is burnt and turned into ashes
In a wild fire of rainy season.

Shakil, the atmosphere that you have created is quite dramatic and sends shivers down the spine of a reader. The mysticism too haunts. Thanks.
