Best Friend - Poem by Emma Butler

If i told you a secret.
Would you swear to me you'd keep it?

I want to trust in you like i once did.
But past experiences have taught me better.

And i no you care but it isn’t enough
To take away the pain of feeling betrayed.

And as i look into your eyes i can see my pain.
I don’t want to hate you i want to feel you again.
But that can never happen.
You left an emptiness in side my heart.
That no-one can ever fill.

You were the only reason that i carried on believing.
Carried on living when i would rather have died.

But now you've stabbed me in the back.
Things can never go back to the way they were before that night.
Before you ripped my heart out and tore it apart.

I love you i truly do i always have and you always knew.

You were my life
My reason for living
You were the one
My whole new beginning
But now you’ve gone
Im left alone
With just my memories of you

My best friend
