Better Perspective Poem by Ima Ryma

Better Perspective

I was in a state of despair.
All life around looked oh so bleak.
Just sadness I saw everywhere.
Glimmer of hope I longed to peek.
Sorrowful soul walking I did be,
In dead of winter, dark at night.
Then a butterfly flew to me,
Perched on my cheek, gave me insight
Into life's ways, how I would cope,
Suddenly be seeing life through
The lens of a gift of new hope.
From my cheek the butterfly flew.

Life is more beautiful when I
Look through wings of a butterfly.
