Betwixt And Bothered Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Betwixt And Bothered

Few live without some grief to experience.
Or the time it takes to mend and heal.
When betwixt,
Sorrow and pain.
And the affect felt to feel.

Few have come to live,
Without tolerating the ungratefulness of others.
Those yet to know,
How value air is.
With it taken for granted.
Until breathing becomes,
So agonizing one does it very slow.

Few live to appreciate their blessings received.
To believe themselves,
Immuned and not to be...
Ever tormented by life threatening diseases.
Or a sorrow and pain they inflicted on others.
With it hoped that feeling with them remains.
Until that day,
They lay to stay on their backs betwixt.
And bothered to feel,
An unrelenting guilt.
That never from them leaves.
To know it real and a lifetime to feel.
