Bhagawad Gita, A New English Translation, Chapter 2 Poem by Ravi Kopra

Bhagawad Gita, A New English Translation, Chapter 2

Chapter 2
Philosophy of Life

Sanjya:
Krishna spoke these words to Arjuna
who was ovecome with pity and sorrow
and agitated he was with eyes full of tears: , O Arjuna

O Arjuna, where from this sorrow is coming to you?
It's unworthy and disgraceful,
it will close the gates of heaven to you.

Don't be unmanly
It does nor befit you
cast off the weakness of your heart,
O scorcher of the enemies!

Arjuna:
How can I shoot my arrows
against Bhisma and Drona
they are worthy of worship
O destroyer of the enemies?

Better I be a begger in this world
than to slay my revered teachers.
If I kill them, all my wealth
and happiness in this world
will be stained with their blood.

I cannot tell what will be better
for them or me to win the war,
Sons of Dhararastra are standing
there facing me. Rather I kill
myself than killing them - my kins.

- to be translated later
