Bhagawad Gita, A New English Translation

Bhagawad Gita
Chapter 1
Distress of Arjuna

Dhritarashitra:
O Sanjay, please tell me
what my kins and Pandu's sons are upto
gathered in Kurukshetra'a holy plains?

Sanjaya:
King Duryodhana saw Pandavas' army
drwan in a battle array and spoke thos
to Drona, his teacher:

Behold, O teacher!
The mighty army of Pand's sons
is arrayed by Drupada, the wise disciple.

There're heros and sharp bowmen
as great as Bhima, Arjuna
Yuyudhana, Virata and Drpada
all in their chariots.

drstaketu, Cekitna and the valiant king of Kasi
Purujit, Kuntibhoja and Saibya - the best of all men.

Yudhamanyu, the strong, and Uttamaujas, the brave
Subhadra's son and sons of Drupadi.
all great heros of wars.

Know also, O the best among the twice-born!
Thse who are the most distinguished among our warriors -
the leaders of our army - these I have come to tell you myself.

- to be continued
