Bird's View - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Bird's View - Lincoln Park Zoo

A tawny frogmouth bird I be.
Lincoln Park Zoo is where I perch.
Australia, originally,
My kind call home - I did research.
At the Bird House, my mate and I
Are in Forest Edge habitat,
With some pigeons and parrots - why?
You'll have to ask the Zoo 'bout that.
I like to hang out on a limb,
Watching humans through the wall glassed.
Sometimes I even, on a whim,
Stick out my tongue after you've passed.

A favorite bird at the Zoo.
I can't help it - just what I do.
