Birth Of A God Poem by Gayatri Phukan

Birth Of A God

Birth of a God

Gayatri phukan

When He says,
And everyone agrees
Then a God is born
When I worship Him
He is elevated
To a higher order
When anyone says
Against God
His voice is strangled
Then a God is born
When we think
He is free from error
To err is human
God never errs
Then a God is born
In politics
In revolution
In stories
In novels
In poems
Or in a market
We fall in danger
When a God is born
Men are helpless
Before God
Men are silent
Before God
Because
His two hands are invisible
We become speechless
Before God
Don't allow God
To bear
Men can never
Become a God
Remember in your mind
God is always free
But our hands are chained
Don't allow God
To be born
Otherwise one day
You will be bound
To kill him
Lest you will die
In the hands of God.
