Birth Of A Poem Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Birth Of A Poem

Sometimes
A thought comes
Associated words
Of hidden beauty
Creep into the mind
It feels like
The start
Of a new poem
Then
Other thoughts
Keep filling in.

Later when
Trying to recall
Mind goes blank
With some difficulty
The thought comes back
Vaguely though
But what were those words?
The exact wave of words
Roll back
Into the ocean of memory
Hard to recover.

It's always
A good idea to keep
A paper and pen
Handy
To write down the words
As they appear
On mind's screen
Or say and record
On a handy device
If none available
Repeat the words
Like a mantra
Keep repeating
Till it's hard
To forget
And write them down
At the earliest
Opportunity.

These key words
Often generate
A poem of novel beauty
For all to read.

Many a thoughts miss our attention many a times. when paper and pen are nearby no thoughts stroll our mind. But a good way of putting forth practical experience. thanks.

Quite right, Sir! It often happens! Once in semi sleep, some thoughts came rushing to my mind and surprisingly words arrayed themselves in such meaningful and rhyming pattern. Feeling lazy to get up and jot it down, I soon fell back to slumber! Early in the morning, I tried to recall it, but Alas! However hard I tried, I couldn't reproduce even a single stanza! An enjoyable read! !
