Black Tie Affair Poem by Edwin Robinette

Black Tie Affair

Coats and tails, gowns and gems
Let us toast our new charade
Tip our hats and curtsy low
As payment shall be made

We stole billions and got away
Yet, they want to give us more
Let us wine and dance, laugh a lot
We are now the perfect whore

Just entertain yourself, my friend
Have fun, as we are certain
America was duped and led astray
This is their final curtain
