Black Widow Poem by George Hunter

Black Widow

Rating: 5.0

Just sittin’ here and feelin’ first rate
Having just finished eating my mate.
My sexy body lured him to his last date
He was a goner right outta the gate.
In record time he took the bait
He was so eager his passion to sate.
He didn’t realize until too late
I was a deadly spouse just full of hate
Till I embraced him, not wanting to wait.

I smiled to myself as I swallowed him down
Glad to be rid of that worthless clown.
I’ll have to admit it was a good deal
First the sex and then a good meal.
My species is known as Lactrodectus
And we have neurotoxin venom to protect us.
Our warning red hourglass you should inspect
God put it there, so show some respect.

We all know about battered women, which is unfair
But wives also batter husbands out there
I see the black spider as one of their kind
Who slowly drive you out of your mind.
Who nag, nag, nag you no matter what you do
Just how to cope I haven’t a clue.
In that environment a man can’t thrive
It’s even worse than being eaten alive.
I guess they just can’t face the fears
That come upon them in the last of their years.
The urge to dominate is just so strong
They can’t see it as a moral wrong.
What can you do?
Oh, what can you do?
It’s not easy living with a shrew.

She just wanted him to go away. But he was too stupid so she ate him. Duh!
