Blackberry Bushes Poem by Tom Billsborough

Blackberry Bushes

Rating: 5.0

O paroles, choses mordantes dans le cerveaux,
Je vous prie. Cessez ces chansons ravissant,
Faisant s'envoler mon cadeau, sommeil.
Comme un vent qui fait perdre les pétales
Roses des ronces et démasque les mures verts

Oh words, biting in my mind,
I plead with you to cease these ravishing songs,
Blowing away the present of my sleep
Like a wind which causes to fall
The pink petals of the bramble
And reveals the unripe berries.

I love this poem in its English translation. It's almost like a beautiful poetry incantation to beckon much-needed sleep! Thanks for sharing your talent.

French is such a charming lovely-sounding language but I am certainly glad you translated this into English so I could enjoy it without going to the Free Online Translator who or which mangles the task like a psycho-killer. And this is way too remarkable to expose to that kind of cruelty. The imagery, Tom! ! ! Perfect. Oh words, biting in my mind, - - - - - - - - - Perfect word choice, biting the action verb that describes so much with that snippy little word Like a wind which causes to fall The pink petals of the bramble And reveals the unripe berries. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Perfect perfect perfect- -imagery as a metaphor as an image. This is what I wish to accomplish... to walk away from a few lines in a poem and know they are perfect and that they are daily speaking into the heart and soul of the reader. 10++++++++++++ On my fav list, my friend.

On my extra large calculator I shall translate the number of green berries now waiting to ripen in the garden into the number of Blackberry Crumbles and pies I shall be able to consume in August and September. Last year I think it was 24. Looks like more this year. Could be a record four hundred mouthfuls unless some annoying person like my daughter demands her fair share! Luckily mr P is immune to fruit but I'd better watch out with the Ice Cream and custard.

Wow French and English, ah I have forgotten my French so the translation was beautiful. Great short freeverse muse. Yeah I can relate to the wordings flooding my mind wanting to spill out on paper but I haven't time to type these days. Thumbs up. So Nice to read from your pen again, I hope u too will review my latest poem titled, 'For all cheese chums'

Like me, Zaynab, you are blessed with a long name and your first forename starts with an S as mine does! An unfortunate error on my father's part which my mother and I never let him forget! Anyway I've written your name down and noted your poem which I shall read as soon as I have finished this reply. It's a pleasure to hear from you again. Occasionally I have a habit of thinking in French but I thought it would be useful to translate it after. I think I might do this in future when I lapse into French!
