Blaze Of Glory - Poem by Irene C S ClarkHogg

I will go out in a blaze of glory.
One day I will die, as now I live.
I do not know all the answers
But this promise I can give.

Old age is only a small part of time
I can live forever within my youth
So as the smoke rises to the heavens
Use your hearts to see the truth.

A smiling figure with upstretched arms
A fiery robe and hair of flames
Eager for answers to my questions
From the eternal with many names.

Only loved ones may view my passing
Shedding no tears as the ashes burn
For they shall see the pheonix rising
And know that I return.

I am going out in a blaze of glory
For now I die as once I lived
Do not grieve, rejoice with me,
Share in all the love I give.

This reminds me of this poem I recently read.

    Desire (by Claribel Alegría)

    “And someone entered death
    with his eyes open.”
    - A. Pizarnik

    I want to enter death
    with my eyes open
    my ears open
    with no masks
    no fears
    and not knowing
    serenely facing
    other voices
    other airs
    other paths
    forgetting my memories
    detaching myself
    being reborn

Someone has said: 'If you are not busy beeing born, you are busy dying.' This wonderful poem depict death as a kind of 'last' labor, in a everlasting process of birth. Thank's for sharing. (Report) Reply
