Bleeding Heart Poem by Daya Nandan

Bleeding Heart

Loving you was suicide from the very start,
For your pridefullness and ego simply tore us apart,
You broke me from within, you destroyed our love,
You are the reason i now cry in pain to god above,

Loving you caused my self-destruction, if only i could
Change the past and bring myself towards a greater good
I gave you my love only to have it shattered and torn apart,
And now the pain keeps growing upon my wounded heart,

Bruised and slashed my heart is bleeding in pain,
As tears from my eyes fall to the ground like a heavy rain,
Pools of blood are now weighing my bruised heart down
That will soon flood my body to make me drown,

To drown in my own blood pumped my my shattered heart,
That used to beat only for you believing love was an art,
How could you do this, how can you let this be,
Is your ego and pride worth so much more than me?

Thoughts of you still oscillate through tormented my mind,
In hopes that things will be alright and each other we will find,
Visions of you keep on endlessly radiating through my dreams,
Though i fully understand that fantasy is not what it seems,

I may hope but i know that the damage is just too bad,
Impossible to be fixed, actions by a man so mad,
Though i still love you, you wont stop the hurt,
You will keep me for granted until i am buried with dirt,

I can't be wounded till the point i bleed and fall to the ground,
Bleed the life out of my self till my heart doesn't make a sound,
No i wont let that happen, i refuse to be cut by your knife,
I will not stand for your abuse, i shall seek a better life,

There is nothing left, no more us, there's no more love,
now its just me and old memories tearing me apart,
But i will forget them and i will move forward in time,
I will heal my heart and put it back at it's prime
