Blind Dates! Poem by Simon Gowen

I’ve just been on a blind date
I should have read the ad
I turned up with some roses
To be greeted by my dad!

I think it was a miss-print
Placed in the “Seeking” column
Still, he’s better than my last date
She was a dead ringer for Gollum!

Now they say that beauties skin deep
So I shouldn’t scream and shout
But I think that mother nature
Had turned her inside out!

Well I’m happy to be single
For now at least its safer
I’ve got to love and leave you now
There’s new ads in the paper!
