Bedtime Partner Poem by Simon Gowen

Bedtime Partner

Rating: 4.8

It's time to share my bed again, reluctantly I find,
That the space that lies beside me is too big.
So I'll trawl around the shops until I see the one I like
A candidate that's perfect for the gig.

I like em nice and chunky, and it's what's inside that counts.
A skinny one quite simply will not do
I think I'd like a blonde one or maybe lighter brown
But definitely not a pink or blue!

Well a week went by quite quickly and I'm happy to report
That I found what I was after, now I'm ready
So it's time for me to say goodnight and bid you all farewell
As I'm off to bed to snuggle with my TEDDY.

A well articulated piece, nicely penned to capture the conviction of the poet. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
