Blissful Loss Poem by Mabel Akena

Blissful Loss

The rain has poured and the wind has blown
Yet from my heart this doubts are neither
Washed nor blown away.

The ocean's tides have risen
Like a tsunami from the earth's
Depths, yet this pain sticks on
Stubbornly refusing to leave.

The trees have grown and what
Once were streams are rivers.
But these memories grow more
Haunting with time, keeping me
Forever seeing the past and no future.
All things seem to move, to grow
And to change but me.
I instead remain forever glued,
Stuck in that one moment that
My heart shall never forget,
That my ears hear with every step,
That my hands tingle with every thought of
And that my mind stubbornly strives
To recall in absolute detail,
As I fight a losing battle
For I know I shall fall into another
Blissful loss, as I reminisce of
Days past, as I reminisce of you once more.
