My Side Poem by Mabel Akena

My Side

Rating: 5.0

walk with me
along this lonesome path that flower's line on both sides as the sun caresses their delicate petals
sing to me
upon this treacherous trek, that your voice may be engraved in my mind and the sound of your breathing an unforgettable flute that lulls my humming pulse
hold my dessert scorched
and flaming throat, that only your site eases the pain quenches my thirst
saunter with me,
burst in melody at the thought, clench me to you, adamantly determined not to let go
so when your gone
the sun's rays will caress my face in comfort
the beautiful flowers will raise your fragrance in memory
the wind will echo your whisper in pity
and the birds will sing in immeasureable replication
in heart felt honour of two pairs of feet.
who have trudged this path so often, two hearts intertwined so close.
But since none are you, can be you, will replace you.
until when our hearts are torn apart.
be by my side, for
my side you belong, by my side I hope you remain.
