Blue Planet Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Blue Planet

Rating: 5.0

When earth's span is done nothing will be lost
Within the great cosmic mystery of time and space
But one diminutive blue planet circling a sun
That finally burnt out finishing all life.
Blue planet is like a tiny grain of sand
Within vast space stretching beyond imagination
Finally to be lost and lifeless, frozen in darkness.
One planet among trillions spreading outwards to eternity
Home of the proud and pretentious children of Adam
Who thought themselves superior and unique
With right to dominate and destroy as they pleased
Stewards lording it over other animal species
Finding out too late they were not Gods
And were ruinous for all including themselves.

Formidable poem! Then sad destiny that awaits us, clearly but poetically and beautifully said. The truth always hurts but in this case the pain is atenuated
