BOOKS

There wasa time:

Great masters their mind outpoured
In books their ideas were stored
The books our sweet homesadorned
A gracious corner of living room formed

Reading them people took pride
Heritage graph, roadmap for strides
In them rules for literature and life
Sense and sensibility of struggle and strife

Now towards books
A different outlook
Life now on tensions feeds
On long journeys books we read

The spurios literature no norms heed
Magazine and throwaway books read
We have somewhat gone astray
To paid publishing we fall prey

Now the books from their racks peep
Hungrily their good readrrship seek

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Yeah, it is sad that people are leaving the habit of reading. Great books are gathering dusts in racks. Even libraries are shutting down due to lack of readers. This poem is an eyeopener. Thanks for sharing Sir. Enjoyed reading.
