Bottom Of The Glass Poem by Andy Brookes

Bottom Of The Glass

Rating: 5.0

What is beyond the glass, a gallowglass spear in hand,
mendacity no i cannot lie do not lie, or do I?
see behind the glasses, an interior heart of darkness
through the glass darkly someone said.

to the upper belly of my world, where up is down and down is down
down, down, down, where we drown in the pettiness of our existence
whatever that is.

a rocky road or a silvery long narrow stretch of beach we call our own, which like a Medieval field system is our strip to plough plant and grow until we are reaped, our reaping death.

I wonder where did all the time go?
so what's behind the glass, the glasses, a bifocal view maybe.
