Braid Poem by Riza Braholli

Braid

Braid

So often I hid my fingers' caress
Burning my hands down your back
Loosening your braid over your breasts
Trembling hopped with squirrel's knack.

Your hair flowed like a waterfall
Rainbows on cheeks, shoulders release
My day so smooth like a silky shawl
With waters flowing down in peace

Immersing my heart, often I stayed
Plumb in the depths of a shyness sea
I asked myself, "why are you so mad...? "
"My gosh, I can't! "- myself answered me.

Whereabouts the window you strayed
With your soul on the wings of wind
In waltzes you loosened your braid
Silky threads in my heart you twinned

Without ending we danced in light air
Overwhelmed and eyes to eyes...
Why couldn't I find you somewhere
Tho' skies for you I capsized?

By the window in classroom you laid
Every night your image was there
‘Cause I left unshuffled your braid
My hand missed caressing your hair.
