Brave Souls Poem by Lauren Coles

Brave Souls

Hospitals are not the happiest places to be,
Doctors may have to tell you news that you don't want to hear but it has to be said,
You can try to block out the world,
But death is a very difficult task to take on,
You may not know the victim personally,
The family might hire you to help them out with the end of life stage,
You might be scared to see them go somewhere to escape until they are gone,
The hospice worker has to go through training,
It's a very stressful situation to be dealing for a client day in and day out.
But it takes a brave person to be at a person's bedside as they take their last breath knowing that their family is outside their door waiting for some positive news that will never come.
