Braveheart: Tears I Cry Poem by Paula Glynn

Braveheart: Tears I Cry

I have loved and I have lost
I am losing money on all the betting
I am waking up too late in the day
To get everything done
I am going to bed too late
To switch my mind off you.

But I am brave and strong
I can handle the stage
I can tell others happy love stories
Except my upsetting own
Losing my crown when once a queen upon the throne
My vows and promises washing away like sand into the sea.

I keep a brave face
I don't see the crowds and run away
But I ran away from his heavenly love
I denied my feelings for someone I cared for
Someone I cared deeply about and trusted
But now he is forever gone.

I can never replace the connection
I can never again have his protection
I can never be his first selection
I can never regain his loving heart
I can never tell him my secrets
I can never confide those sacred emotions.

I could search the whole wide world
And his type would never come around again
I could meet over a million people
And he'd just never be there
I've lost him and his true love forever
And I sadly know I will never find better.
