Breaths Counting On You Poem by Soumili Karmakar

Breaths Counting On You

Railway tracks are calling for bare feets to start their walks;
Wheels of innumerable trains wishing to continue their pending talks,
Stones framed in rectangles are keeping dewy grasses safe beneath,
Oh, how it amazes me to see them protecting their little beings!

Defeats counting as glories,
The wise heart says, "It saved us from rough lightening, during days where paths had no ways."

We loved to see the world being loved by rain,
Even if some wept in vain.
But the sun came shining and so did the smiling moon;
I stood under shades of boughs to see the world admiring all its hues.
Dark and light both had their arrival time,
Departure was needed for the other to dine.
The story was inscribed on leaflets of never ending words,
I read and read and fell in love.

Bunches of bees storing honey in hives,
Flowers of paradise found no places to hide.
There was you and I living under the lights of stars,
And I loved to see how we bloomed loving the city from the vase.

Melodies of our sun rising breezes,
The blue sky living with snowy clouds painted by hues of pearls and seas,
Travelling towards our home to find his peace.
Our lawn is breathing by crystals all over again,
Blessing we received even though words didn't claim.

It was for eyes. Wasn't it, my dear?
We read each other, as promises of rainbows after rainy days in all our years.
Languages were colours and gazes defined our breaths,
Shall we meet near the shore line where winds are calling our names?
