Broken Asunder Poem by Daya Nandan

Broken Asunder

Since you left me i have been lost
My heart feels no warmth covered in the coldest frost
Never have i thought that i could be more hurt in my life
You proved that words can be sharper than an edge of a knife

I am still blinded by the feelings i have for you deep within me,
They run deep in my veins and go far deeper than the deep blue sea,
And yet here i watch you chasing some guy who broke your heart,
You try to hide the pain holding on before you fall apart,

You choose to ignore me although i lost my way for you,
Eventhough you know that i miss you under our sky so blue,
It hurts me watching us move further apart, it really does,
If only you would give us a second chance, forget about what was,

How much longer can we stay silent to each other?
Do you really want to just give up and find another?
Are you absolutely sure that is what you truly desire?
Cause second chances are rare, chances too can burn in time's fire,

Among the damaged organs my wounded heart can still survive
Living through each day, waiting for the next sunrise
You caused a rumbling in my heart as loud as thunder,
Left me bleeding, my barely beating heart broken asunder,

But the pieces that lie of my broken heart still call for you,
Though we both got hurt i have faith that we can still pull through,
If you could love me again with your gentle heart of worth,
A second chance is all we need to revive our love on this earth.
