Broken Toys Poem by soren Barrett

Broken Toys

Ice cream boats on lemonade seas, candy angels in an orange blossom breeze
From a child's eyes it looked this way
But soon the wise were telling me the world was not what I see
No more magic in the night or day
Steal your eyes poison your brain schooled to be insane
Given a stencil of what to say
Growing old on a pill, told when you are ill
Oh to return to that innocent way
