Bruce Poem by Juan Olivarez

Bruce

Bruce is just a little guy,
That happens to be my friend.
I guess no one can deny,
We have been through thick and thin.

He cried for me on that first day,
Sitting there inside my truck.
While watching me just walk away,
I guess he thought, he was out of luck.

But my wife consoled him on her lap,
While I got his bag of chow.
Then he decided to take a nap,
Like it didn't matter anyhow.

He's followed me all across this land,
And he's always by my side.
To Arkansas and the Mojave's sands,
And snuggled close when I would cry.

I owe this little guy a lot you know,
You can say he's my best friend.
He's always there through my highs and lows,
I feel he'll be there at the end.

Very sweet-reminds me of how I feel about my youngest cousin. Bruce would be very touched if he read this. Good job! ! !
