But Only For Show Poem by M. Asim Nehal

But Only For Show

Rating: 5.0

Tighten your lips,
for words are a snare
In a city of blind devotees
who don't seem to care
about the power of speech and
the weight it holds
for in this place,
truth is often sold.

Silenced by the sword,
the speakers stand
fearful to voice their thoughts,
for they may be banned
In this city where words are a dangerous game
And those who speak out
are often met with shame.

To true! , one can never be to cautious in what you say or do, especially today, where social media will find anything to crucify you for any little weakness. So many people today are just for show. Well crafted my friend!

But only for show, is a great satire on present situation, war and tussle everywhere and tight lipped neutral countries are watching the game.
