By Kingdom Come Poem by Randy McClave

By Kingdom Come

As though the sound of God snapping his thumb
I said to myself, by kingdom come
This will be the end of ourselves and our earth
There will be no more death and no more birth
To the force of GOD we all will succumb
As we will say to ourselves, by kingdom come
That time will arrive, when we will see our last dawn
All that we knew and loved will be forever gone
Taps are blown and there will be a beating of the drum
We all will say to ourselves, by kingdom come
This, we will know will be the end of our days
Along with our deeds undone and our evil ways
Upon a harp, the final note an angel will strum
Then we will know to ourselves, by kingdom come
All that we can expect will be our own death
As we choke away on regrets, and our very last breath
But all that counts is where we have come from
And where we will go, will be by kingdom come.
